Tough and Muddy

Tough Mudder 2015 - The Daily MaidThank you to everyone who sponsored us for completing the North West Tough Mudder on 12th September 2015.

As the heading suggests, it was extremely tough and tremendously muddy!

Following 5 gruelling hours, 11.6miles and 26 obstacles, we had scaled swamps, sewer tunnels and even 10,000 volt electric shocks to get to the end of the course. By far the worst obstacle was the ‘Arctic Enema’ in which had you climb scaffolding to reach a slide that fully submerged you in a skip full of ice water – what a shock!

Thank you again to everyone – it really helped us whilst completing the course to know we had managed to raise £492.99 for the fantastic charity, CALM, so thank you.

For anyone who hasn’t yet donated, our page is still open for the time being: www.justgiving.com/sarahpotts2015

You can read more about CALM by clicking here.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Jan Birss and Daily Maid team run for Sports Relief

15th, April 2012 – Written by Tony Birss

In a continuing effort to support local and national charities Jan Birss, owner and Managing Director of The Daily Maid successfully completed the 10 kilometre race for Sport Relief.

The event was held at Birkenhead Park on Sunday 25th March. Jan was joined by her daughter Sarah Birss and Laura Hartley, one of the longest serving members of the Daily Maid team.

Jan was keen to do some runs for Claire House, St Johns Hospice and Cancer Research UK, not to mention trying to improve her fitness.

Being new to running she joined a local racing club in November 2011, who have helped her get into shape, and Jan has been pounding the pavements ever since

The day finally came and we woke up to an unusually warm and sunny day for this time of year. Having spent the previous three days fuelling up with pasta galore and buckets of water Jan was ready to go.

With only a few short months of training all three girls managed to complete the course in respectable times and raised £200 for Sports Relief.

Claire House Summer Festival 2011

The Daily Maid has always supported local charities, with Claire House and St Johns Hospice being closest to our hearts. This year we are supporting the innaugral Claire House Summer Festival, which will be held on the 24th – 26th June, at Wirral Rugby Club.

The Claire House Summer Festival 2011 ethos is to stage a community based event that not only raises valuable funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice but also to help local community groups in raising
awareness and funds for their own cause.

We invite local craft artisans and food producers to come along and join in the fun. The Festival is shaping up to be host to a wonderful local Farmers Market and Craft Fair showcasing unique and high quality range of food stuffs, crafts and gifts.

It will be a family orientated event with fairground rides, a climbing wall and pony rides. Also face painting, clairvoyant, pet’s corner, artists, live music and dance. The Main Arena will host various displays during the two days plus a Tug Of War.

There’ll be lots to keep the whole family entertained with fairground rides, a climbing wall, pony rides, face painting, clairvoyant, a mini-farm, artists, live music and dance. The Main Arena will play host to various displays throughout the weekend including a Tug Of War competition.

A Wirral Cleaner With The Personal Touch

21st August, 2010. Written by professional writer John Meadowcroft

As a friendly Wirral cleaner, The Daily Maid often comes across many requests that people wouldn’t necessarily make to a larger organisation. That’s the advantage of being family-owned cleaners on the Wirral. We’re friendly and personable, with over fifteen years’ experience of cleaning out nooks and crannies across the peninsula.

Alongside these qualities is a real ambition to make The Daily Maid the best cleaning agency across the Wirral peninsula. We believe in hard work and aren’t afraid of it – you don’t exist for fifteen years without going the extra mile and incorporating a splash of elbow grease into every project you undertake.

We do it with a smile, too. On a personal level, this is our dream. Everyone who represents The Daily Maid has their own special, unique quality that lingers in our clients’ minds longer than the smell of Pledge polish and Dettol!

Our clients are dearly important to us and we thoroughly enjoy working alongside them as we make their homes as pristine and as immaculate as possible. We know from experience just how cluttered and messy a family home can be – we have a large brood ourselves. So we use all of our personal and professional experience to spot areas that other cleaning firms may not consider tackling when cleaning a residence.

Trust, personality and incredible attention to detail are just a few of our key selling points as a Wirral cleaner. We hope you’ll get in touch to give our services a try.

A Domestic Cleaner In Wirral For The Long Term

14th August, 2010. Written by professional writer John Meadowcroft

Most of our clients have been aboard the good ship Daily Maid for a number of years. We’ve made a lot of friends during our time as a domestic cleaner on the Wirral who are always pleased with the service we provide and the lengths we go to to make sure they are happy with the results.

A lot of our reputation has come from good old word of mouth – friends telling other friends about how far we go as a Wirral cleaner. That’s because we imbue hard work and industry into every project we take on, whether it’s a simple clean, a thorough spring clean throughout your home or cleaning up after the builders when they’ve trawled dust and mud throughout your home.

But over the past five years we’ve been incredibly busy. It seems that all of our clients have a hell of a lot of friends! So we’re gradually expanding and showing off what we can do as a domestic cleaner on the Wirral. But we don’t want to clean your house once and never hear from you again, oh no. We’re a friendly and personable bunch and want you to value the service we provide. We want to be there to take the cleaning weight off your shoulders and do so again and again for years to come.

The Daily Maid is living the cleaning dream and wants to be there time and again for years to come to provide a long-term cleaning solution that leaves you satisfied, and makes your house feel like a proper home.

Cleaning Wirral Carpets!

7th August, 2010. Written by professional writer John Meadowcroft.

We have two dogs. We have a big family. We have a carpet. What else do we have when we combine all three? Problems!

As you probably know it’s a stomach-churning moment whenever something is spilled onto a carpet. Whether it’s a glass of wine or your children have traipsed mud all over the house you’ll more than likely be on your hands and knees trying in vain to make it better. It’s actually more likely that you’re making the problem worse, digging the dirt deeper and smudging it into the fibres.

We’ve learned through good old experience here at The Daily Maid. As a domestic cleaner on the Wirral we are able to offer a carpet cleaning service that is deep-reaching through state-of-the-art carpet cleaning tools.
You may never have cleaned your carpet before and don’t have the slightest clue on how to approach it. As cleaners on the Wirral we can take the pain away from you and leave you with a carpet that you’ll be immensely proud to show off to your friends and family.

Daily Maid Team Fund Raise for Claire House

30th July, 2010

The Daily Maid is a family run business and as such we always look to support new ventures from within. Owner of The Daily Maid Jan Birss and her daughter Sarah Birss are going trekking in Jordan in October 2010, in aid of Claire House.

They have both been busy organising a number of events to raise the £3000 in funds that they need to book their place on the ‘journey of a lifetime’. they have completed bag packing at local supermarkets, and have savoured the delights of car washing at Upton Fire Station two weeks ago with the help of the hard-working fire response team there. A hard task for the girls, but someone had to do it.

Claire House is a 10 bedded hospice for children with life limiting, life threatening conditions from across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man. Located in Bebington on the Wirral, Claire House is a bright, vibrant place of hope. In addition to caring for our children and young adults, we also focus on the needs of the whole family, providing bereavement and other support for as long as it is needed. With no guaranteed government funding we need to raise in excess of £2.5 million each year to maintain our present levels of service.

Our specialist nursing team also work in the community through our ‘Hospice to Home’ programme which offers paediatric palliative care in the family home. With a hospice to home service also operating from our Liverpool office we are now reaching more families than in previous years and hope to see this grow in other areas too.
